Our History
En 2001, sous l’impulsion de Madame ALEOKOL, née DADE KAOLE Berthe, les peuples autochtones de l’Arrondissement de Messok ont connu une amélioration considérable de leurs conditions de vie.
Auparavant relégués aux travaux champêtres à cause de leur main d’œuvre bon marché et parfois victimes des abus de la part des bantous, ces derniers ont trouvé en elle une protectrice qui s’est battue sans relâche pour la défense de leurs intérêts et la promotion de leur cultures et patrimoines, les traitant avec amour, bienveillance et respect. Cet accompagnement couvrait tous les secteurs de la vie de ces derniers leur conduisant jusqu’à la cérémonie de vœux adressée à la première Dame du Cameroun, en passant par de multiples formations et participations aux activités de la mairie aux côtés de leurs frères bantou. Organization under the patronage of the First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal BIYA, of the ceremony uniting 120 Baka Couples to secure Baka women and their offspring.
Participation of a delegation of 03 Baka women at the ceremony for presenting wishes to the First Lady of Cameroon, Madame Chantal BIYA.
Organization of Indigenous Peoples Day with a large football tournament among the 14 different Baka communities of the Messok District.
Training of 05 bakas in the introduction to the use of computer tools at the African Institute of Computer Science (IAI) in Yaoundé.
Organization of the Christmas tree in the middle of the equatorial forest in the presence of the President of the Chantal BIYA Foundation.
Organization of a large census campaign across the 14 Baka camps in the Messok District.
Organization of the Baka Women's Day, with training workshops on income-generating activities.
Participation in World Tourism Day at the former Presidential Palace, with the creation of the Baka village made up of huts.
