On the sidelines of the Baka Festival held from August 4 to 10 in Bagofit, in the Haut-Nyong Department of the East Region of Cameroon, the Dadé Kaolé Association participated in a roundtable discussion themed "Baka Youth, an entity to protect and promote in coexistence" in commemoration of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples.
Participating in the aforementioned round table, the President of the Dadé Kaolé Association, Mr. TAMAMOT ALEOKOL Denis Olivier, spoke on the theme "Indigenous Peoples, Actors of Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Protection." He emphasized the win-win partnership that can be established with the Baka by valuing their knowledge of the forest and its biodiversity, as well as their ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants.
