On the sidelines of the Baka Festival held from August 4 to 10 in Bagofit, in the Haut-Nyong Department of the East Region of Cameroon, the Dadé Kaolé Association participated in a roundtable discussion themed "Baka Youth, an entity to protect and promote in coexistence" in commemoration of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples.

Participating in the aforementioned round table, the President of the Dadé Kaolé Association, Mr. TAMAMOT ALEOKOL Denis Olivier, spoke on the theme "Indigenous Peoples, Actors of Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Protection." He emphasized the win-win partnership that can be established with the Baka by valuing their knowledge of the forest and its biodiversity, as well as their ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants. He presented indigenous peoples as an important asset for the preservation of nature if they are integrated into the roles of eco-guards..

This round table was led by Professor Patrice Bigombé, who highlighted the need to see a Baka elite emerge, capable of defending the interests of indigenous peoples and empowering Baka youth..
