On October 30, 2025, an important step was taken for the protection of the rights and interests of the Baka indigenous peoples, the promotion of education, and the empowerment of Baka women. At the premises of the Dade Kaolé Association in Yaoundé, representatives of the Dade Kaolé Association, TAMAMOT ALEOKOL Denis, and the Arche Baka Association of Idili, BIEME MBEBOLA Marlyse, signed a historic partnership agreement aimed at uniting their efforts to improve the living conditions of the Baka populations, particularly through awareness-raising actions, economic empowerment, and the protection of children's rights.
This partnership, lasting 5 years, will focus on concrete actions such as:
- The promotion of Baka women's rights, with particular attention to the fight against gender-based violence and early marriages;
- The economic empowerment of women through vocational training programs and economic integration initiatives;
- Raising awareness in communities about the rights of Baka women and children, and supporting the education of children, particularly girls.
The ActionBaka steering committee will be established to coordinate joint activities and ensure rigorous monitoring of project progress. This strategic partnership will strengthen the protection of human rights for the Baka and ensure a more equitable future for their children.
The Dade Kaolé Association and the Baka Arch of Idili are committed to working closely together to provide a coordinated action platform, through which the Baka communities will benefit from direct and sustainable support.
This action platform is a direct response to the social and economic challenges faced by Baka communities, and a step towards a more inclusive and equitable future.
