The Dadé Kaolé Association has launched a census of Baka children enrolled in schools in the Messok district. The coordinator, Mr. Iverick NKOPANI, and the deputy coordinator, Mr. Valère GBAMISSO, visited the schools of Ndjangué, Mbeng-Mbeng, and Zouadiba.
The goal is to know how many Baka children actually go to school, and where. These figures will then allow for better targeting of support for their education.
The first results
During these visits, the team counted 45 Baka students present:
- Ndjangué: 31 students
- Zouadiba: 8 students
- Mbeng-Mbeng: 6 students
An incomplete figure
According to the school directors, other Baka students were absent on the day the team visited. The actual number of enrolled children is therefore higher. The association plans to complete this census with the help of the directors and the communities.
This work aligns with the association's vision: to train an elite within indigenous peoples capable of driving their own development. It starts with school.
The Dadé Kaolé Association thanks the directors and teachers of Ndjangué, Mbeng-Mbeng, and Zouadiba for their hospitality and collaboration.
