As part of the support for Election Cameroon (ELECAM), the Dadé Kaolé Association went into the field throughout May 2024 to register Baka individuals of voting age. This awareness campaign, which took place in the 14 camps of the Messok District, aimed to educate indigenous peoples about their civic duties in order to prepare them for the upcoming electoral deadlines. Approximately 1,800 individuals were informed, and nearly 123 Baka were registered on the electoral roll. This underperformance is linked to the fact that less than 10% of the Baka population holds a National Identity Card. Thus, the Dadé Kaolé Association has re-mobilized to launch a large campaign for the establishment of birth certificates.
